And now all the study of Ammon and his people, and king Limhi and his people, was to deliver themselves out of the hands of the Lamanites, and from bondage.

All that Ammon and his people and King Limhi and his people thought about was getting free. They wanted to escape from the Lamanites and from being slaves.

Now all the focus of Ammon and his people, and King Limhi and his people, was on one thing: escaping from the Lamanites and breaking free from slavery.
