And it came to pass that the king was pacified towards his people; and he said unto them, Let us go forth to meet my people, without arms; and I swear unto you with an oath, that my people shall not slay thy people.

Simple English

The king became peaceful toward Limhi’s people. He said to them: “Let’s go meet my people without weapons. I promise you my people won’t kill your people.”

Paraphrase

The king’s anger cooled. “Let’s go meet my people together,” he said. “Don’t bring weapons. I swear to you—my people won’t kill yours.”
