Mosiah 19:26

And also Limhi, being the son of the king, having the kingdom conferred upon him by the people, made oath unto the king of the Lamanites, that his people should pay tribute unto him, even one half of all they possessed.

Limhi was the king’s son. The people made him their new king. He promised the Lamanite king that his people would pay half of everything they owned.

Limhi, the king’s son, was chosen by the people to be their new king. He made his own oath to the Lamanite king that his people would pay the tribute—half of all they had.
