Simple English
But be afraid and shake before God. You should shake. The Lord doesn’t save people who fight against him and die in their sins. He doesn’t save anyone who has died in sin since the world began. He doesn’t save those who knew God’s commands but chose to fight against him. They won’t be in the first resurrection.
Paraphrase
'But now—fear! Tremble before God! You should tremble. Because the Lord doesn’t save anyone who rebels against him and dies in their sins. Everyone since the world began who has willfully turned against God, who knew his commands and refused to keep them—they have no part in the first resurrection.
Notes
Mosiah 15:24-27 seems to teach that those who have never heard the gospel are saved without baptism (see also 2 Nephi 9:25-26; Moroni 8:22-23). Contrast with Doctrine and Covenants which teaches to the need to do proxy baptism for the dead (D&C 128:1-5, 17-18).
