Mosiah 11:19

And now, because of this great victory, they were lifted up in the pride of their hearts; they did boast in their own strength, saying, That their fifty could stand against thousands of the Lamanites; and thus they did boast, and did delight in blood, and the shedding of the blood of their brethren, and this because of the wickedness of their king and priests.

Because of this big win, they became very proud. They bragged about their own strength. They said that fifty of their men could fight thousands of Lamanites. They bragged like this and loved violence and killing. This happened because their king and priests were wicked.

This one victory went straight to their heads. They got cocky and started bragging about their strength. “Fifty of us could take on thousands of Lamanites,” they boasted. They started enjoying violence—even enjoyed killing their own brothers. All because their king and priests had corrupted them.
