and they have become strong in their perversion; and they are alike brutal, sparing none, neither old nor young; and they delight in every thing save that which is good; and the sufferings of our women and our children upon all the face of this land, doth exceed every thing; yea, tongue cannot tell, neither can it be written.

They have become strong in their evil ways. They are all very cruel. They do not spare anyone. Not old people or young people. They are happy doing everything that is bad. The suffering of our women and children everywhere is worse than anything. You cannot say or write how bad it is.

They’ve grown strong in their corruption. They’re brutal to everyone—they spare no one, not the old, not the young. They delight in everything except what’s good. The suffering of our women and children across this whole land is beyond description. Words can’t capture it. No one could write it down.
