Moroni 7:17

1830 Edition

but whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the Devil, for after this manner doth the Devil work: for he persuadeth no man to do good, no not one; neither doth his angels; neither doth they which subject themselves unto him.

Influences

Romans 3:12 (KJV)
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Changes

bBut whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the Ddevil,; for after this manner doth the Ddevil work:, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither doth his angels; neither doth they whicho subject themselves unto him.

Simple English

But anything that tells people to do evil, not believe in Christ, deny him, and not serve God—you can know for sure it is from the Devil. This is how the Devil works. He doesn’t tell anyone to do good. Not even one person. His angels don’t either. Neither do the people who obey him.

Paraphrase

But anything that leads people to do evil, to not believe in Christ, to deny him and refuse to serve God—you can know for certain that’s from the Devil. That’s how he works. He doesn’t persuade anyone to do good—not one person. Neither do his angels, or anyone who serves him.“
