Mormon 9:35

And these things are written, that we may rid our garments of the blood of our brethren which have dwindled in unbelief.

These things are written so that we can be clean from the blood of our brothers who have stopped believing.

We’ve written these things so we can clear ourselves of responsibility for our brothers who’ve drifted into unbelief.
