Mormon 8:18

And he that sayeth, Shew unto me, or ye shall be smitten, let him beware lest he commandeth that which is forbidden of the Lord.

If someone says, “Show me a sign or you will be hurt,” they should be careful. They might be asking for something the Lord said not to do.

Anyone who demands, “Show me a sign, or I’ll attack you,” should be careful not to ask for something the Lord has forbidden.
