Mormon 3:14

And when they had sworn by all that had been forbidden them, by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, that they would go up unto their enemies to battle, and avenge themselves of the blood of their brethren, behold, the voice of the Lord came unto me, saying:

They had sworn by everything that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ told them not to swear by. They said they would go to battle against their enemies and get revenge for the blood of their brothers. Then the voice of the Lord came to me. He said:

When they swore—by everything Jesus Christ had forbidden them to swear by—that they’d attack their enemies and avenge their dead, the Lord spoke to me:
