And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard did taste of the fruit, every sort according to its number. And the Lord of the vineyard saith, Behold, this long time have we nourished this tree, and I have laid up unto myself against the season, much fruit.

Simple English

The Lord tasted the fruit, every kind. The Lord said: “We have taken care of this tree for a long time. I have saved much fruit for later.”

Paraphrase

The Lord of the vineyard tasted every kind of fruit. He said, ‘We’ve nourished this tree for so long. I’ve stored up much fruit for the season.’
