And it came to pass that a long time had passed away, and the Lord of the vineyard sayeth unto his servant, Come, let us go down into the vineyard, that we may labor again in the vineyard. For behold, the time draweth near, and the end soon cometh: wherefore, I must lay up fruit, against the season, unto mine own self.

A long time passed. The Lord said to his servant: “Come, let’s go to the vineyard. Let’s work there again. The time is almost here. The end is coming soon. So I must store up fruit for later.”

Paraphrase

Another long period passed. Then the Lord of the vineyard said to his servant, ‘Come, let’s go back to the vineyard and work again. Time is running short—the end is coming soon. I need to store up fruit for the season.’
