Jacob 5:18

—And he sayeth unto the servant, Behold, the branches of the wild tree hath taken hold of the moisture of the root thereof, that the root thereof hath brought forth much strength; and because of the much strength of the root thereof, the wild branches hath brought forth tame fruit: now, if we had not grafted in these branches, the tree thereof would have perished. And now, behold, I shall lay up much fruit, which the tree thereof hath brought forth; and the fruit thereof I shall lay up, against the season, unto mine own self.

He said to the servant: “The wild branches got water from the roots. The roots gave them much strength. Because the roots are so strong, the wild branches made good fruit. If we hadn’t planted these branches, the tree would have died. Now I will store up much fruit that this tree made. I will save it for later.”

He said to the servant, ‘Look—the wild branches have drawn moisture from the root, and the root has given them great strength. Because of the root’s strength, these wild branches are producing cultivated fruit. If we hadn’t grafted them in, the tree would’ve died. Now I’ll be able to store up plenty of fruit from this tree for the coming season.’
