Jacob 4:5
1830 Edition
Behold, they believed in Christ, and worshiped the Father in his name; and also, we worship the Father in his name. And for this intent, we keep the law of Moses, it pointing our souls to him; and for this cause, it is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was accounted unto Abraham in the wilderness, to be obedient unto the commands of God, in offering up his son Isaac, which was a similitude of God and his only begotten Son.

Simple English
They believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name. We also worship the Father in his name. That’s why we keep the law of Moses. It points our souls to Christ. It makes us right with God, just like when Abraham obeyed God. Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son Isaac. This was like God sacrificing his only Son.
Paraphrase
They believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name. We do the same. That’s why we keep the law of Moses—it points our souls to him. It makes us righteous, the same way Abraham was counted righteous in the wilderness when he obeyed God’s command to offer his son Isaac, which was a picture of God and his only Son.
