Jacob 2:13

And the hand of Providence hath smiled upon you most pleasingly, that you have obtained many riches; and because that some of you have obtained more abundantly than that of your brethren, ye are lifted up in the pride of your hearts, and wear stiff necks, and high heads, because of the costliness of your apparel, and persecute your brethren, because that ye suppose that ye are better then they.

God has blessed you. You have gotten many riches. Some of you have more than others. So you become proud. You act better than others because of your expensive clothes. You hurt your brothers because you think you are better.

God’s been good to you. You’ve become wealthy. But because some of you have more than others, you’ve become arrogant. You walk around with your noses in the air, showing off your expensive clothes. You look down on your brothers and sisters, treating them badly because you think you’re better than they are.
