Helaman 9:30

And he shall stand with fear, and wist not what to say. And behold, he shall deny unto you; and he shall make as if he were astonished; nevertheless, he shall declare unto you that he is innocent.

Simple English

“He will stand there with fear and not know what to say. He will deny it to you and will act astonished. But he will claim he is innocent.”

Paraphrase

“He’ll freeze up, not knowing what to say. He’ll deny it. He’ll act shocked. He’ll insist he’s innocent.”
