The Book of Mormon

Helaman 8:21

1830 Edition

And now will ye dispute that Jerusalem was destroyed? Will ye say that the sons of Zedekiah were not slain, all except it were Mulek? Yea, and do ye not behold that the seed of Zedekiah are with us, and they were driven out of the land of Jerusalem? But behold, this is not all.

Changes

And now will yeou dispute that Jerusalem was destroyed? Will ye say that the sons of Zedekiah were not slain, all except it were Mulek? Yea, and do ye not behold that the seed of Zedekiah are with us, and they were driven out of the land of Jerusalem? But behold, this is not all.

Simple English

“Will you argue that Jerusalem wasn’t destroyed? Will you say Zedekiah’s sons weren’t killed? All of them died except Mulek. Don’t you see that Zedekiah’s children are with us? They were forced to leave Jerusalem. But this is not all.”

Paraphrase

“Will you deny that Jerusalem was destroyed? Will you say Zedekiah’s sons weren’t killed—all except Mulek? You can see that Zedekiah’s descendants are right here with us. They were driven out of Jerusalem. But there’s more.”
