Helaman 7:2

for he had been forth among the people which was in the land northward, and did preach the word of God unto them, and did prophesy many things unto them;

He had been with the people in the north land. He preached God’s word to them. He told them many things that would happen.

He’d been up north preaching God’s word and sharing prophecies with the people there.
