And it came to pass on the other hand, that the Nephites did build them up and support them, beginning at the more wicked part of them, until they had overspread all the land of the Nephites, and had seduced the more part of the righteous, until they had come down to believe in their works, and partake of their spoils, and to join with them in their secret murders and combinations.

But the Nephites built up and supported the robbers. They started with the most evil Nephites. The robbers spread through all Nephite lands. They tricked most of the good people. The good people began to believe in the robbers’ work. They shared the stolen goods. They joined in the secret murders and groups.

The Nephites did the opposite. They supported and built up these criminals, starting with the most wicked among them, until the gangs spread across all Nephite lands. They even seduced most of the good people, until they too began believing in the gang’s ways, sharing in stolen goods, and joining their secret murders and conspiracies.
