Helaman 6:17

For behold, the Lord had blessed them so long with the riches of the world, that they had not been stirred up to anger, to wars, nor to bloodsheds; therefore they began to set their hearts upon their riches; yea, they began to seek to get gain, that they might be lifted up one above another; therefore they began to commit secret murders, and to rob, and to plunder, that they might get gain.—

The Lord had blessed them with riches for so long that they had not been angry or fought wars or killed. So they began to love their riches. They began to try to get money so they could be better than others. So they began to murder secretly, rob, and steal to get money.

The Lord had blessed them with wealth for so long that they hadn’t fought wars or shed blood. So they started focusing on their riches. They chased profit, each trying to rise above the others. They began committing secret murders, robbery, and theft for gain.
