And there was no contention among the people in the forty and fourth year; neither was there much contention in the forty and fifth year.

There was no fighting among the people in the forty-fourth year. There was not much fighting in the forty-fifth year either.

The forty-fourth year passed without conflict. The same was true for the forty-fifth.
