Helaman 16:4

For behold, Nephi was baptizing, and prophesying, and preaching, crying repentance unto the people; shewing signs and wonders; working miracles among the people, that they might know that the Christ must shortly come;

Nephi was baptizing, teaching, and preaching. He called people to change their ways. He showed them signs and wonderful things. He did miracles among the people. He did this so they would know Christ would come soon.

Nephi was busy baptizing, prophesying, and preaching repentance to the people. He performed miracles and amazing signs to show them that Christ would soon come.
