Helaman 12:6

Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God, who hath created them, should rule and reign over them, notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them; they do set at nought his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide.

They don’t want the Lord their God to rule over them. He made them! But they don’t care, even though he is so good and kind to them. They ignore his advice. They don’t want him to guide them.

They don’t want the Lord their God—the one who created them—to rule and reign over them, despite all his goodness and mercy. They ignore his guidance. They refuse to let him lead.
