Helaman 10:3

And it came to pass as he was thus pondering,—being much cast down because of the wickedness of the people of the Nephites, their secret works of darkness, and their murderings, and their plunderings, and all manner of iniquities—and it came to pass as he was thus pondering in his heart, behold, a voice came unto him, saying:

As he was thinking, he felt very sad. The Nephite people were doing so many evil things. They had secret evil plans. They were murdering and stealing. They were doing all kinds of wrong things. As he was thinking about this in his heart, a voice came to him. It said:

As he walked, his heart grew heavy. The Nephites’ wickedness weighed on him—their secret plots, their murders, their robberies, all their evil. While he was turning these things over in his mind, a voice spoke to him:
