And there came prophets in the land again, crying repentance unto them; that they must prepare the way of the Lord, or there should come a curse upon the face of the land; yea, even there should be a great famine, in the which they should be destroyed, if they did not repent.

Prophets came to the land again. They told the people to turn from their sins. They said the people must get ready for the Lord, or a curse would come on the land. There would be a great time with no food. They would be destroyed if they did not turn from their sins.

Paraphrase

Prophets appeared in the land again, calling the people to turn back to God. “Prepare the way of the Lord,” they warned, “or a curse will come upon the land—a devastating famine that will destroy you if you don’t change your ways.”
