Ether 8:26

Wherefore I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things, that evil may be done away, and that the time may come that satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men, but that they may be persuaded to do good continually, that they may come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved.

So I, Moroni, am told to write these things so that evil can be stopped. I write them so that the time may come when Satan has no power over people’s hearts. Then they will be led to do good all the time. Then they can come to the source of all that is right and be saved.

I, Moroni, have been commanded to write these things so that evil can be stopped—so that the day will come when Satan has no power over people’s hearts anymore. Instead, they’ll be moved to do good continually, and come to the source of all righteousness and be saved.
