Ether 6:5

And it came to pass that the Lord God caused that there should a furious wind blow upon the face of the waters, towards the promised land; and thus they were tossed upon the waves of the sea before the wind.

The Lord God caused a strong wind to blow on the water toward the promised land. The wind pushed them across the waves of the sea.

The Lord God sent a fierce wind blowing across the water toward the promised land, and they were carried along on the waves.
