And the Lord said unto him, Because of thy faith thou hast seen that I shall take upon me flesh and blood; and never has man come before me with such exceeding faith as thou hast: for were it so, ye could not have seen my finger. Sawest thou more than this?

Changes

And the Lord said unto him,: Because of thy faith thou hast seen that I shall take upon me flesh and blood; and never has man come before me with such exceeding faith as thou hast:; for were it not so, ye could not have seen my finger. Sawest thou more than this?

Simple English

The Lord said to him: “Because you believed, you saw that I will have flesh and blood. No one has ever believed in me as much as you have. If they hadn’t believed this much, they couldn’t have seen my finger. Did you see more than this?”

Paraphrase

The Lord said, “Because of your faith, you’ve seen that I will take on flesh and blood. No one has ever come before me with faith as great as yours. If they had, they would have seen my finger too. Did you see more than this?”
