Ether 2:9

And now we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise, and whatsoever nation shall possess it, shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity:

Now we can see God’s rules about this land. It is a promised land. Any nation that lives here must serve God. If they don’t, they will be destroyed when God’s full anger comes. God’s full anger comes when they are really bad.

Now we can see God’s decree about this land: it’s a promised land. Whatever nation lives here must serve God, or they’ll be swept away when his anger overflows. And his anger overflows when they’re fully ripe in wickedness.
