Alma 7:12

and he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which binds his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to suffer his people according to their infirmities.

He will die so he can break the chains of death that hold his people. He will take on their weaknesses so his heart will be filled with mercy. Then he will know how to help his people with their weaknesses.

He will experience death to break the chains of death that bind His people. He will take on their weaknesses so His heart will be filled with mercy, and through His mortal experience, He’ll know how to help His people in their struggles.
