And he did raise the standard of liberty in whatsoever place he did enter, and gained whatsoever force he could in all his march towards the land of Gideon.

He raised the flag of freedom in every place he entered. He got as many soldiers as he could on his march toward the land of Gideon.

Wherever he went, he raised the banner of liberty, gathering every man who would join him on his march toward Gideon.
