Alma 60:17

But behold, now the Lamanites are coming upon us, and they are murdering our people with the sword; yea, our women and our children; taking possession of our lands, and also carrying them away captive; causing them that they should suffer all manner of afflictions; and this because of the great wickedness of those who are seeking for power and authority; yea, even those king-men.

But the Lamanites are coming. They are killing our people with the sword. They are killing our women and our children. They are taking over our lands. They are taking people away. They are making them have all kinds of troubles. This is all because of the bad people who want power. The king-men caused this.

But now the Lamanites are invading, murdering our people with the sword—our women and children. They’re seizing our land and carrying people off as captives, forcing them to endure every kind of suffering. And all because of the wickedness of those who hunger for power—those king-men.
