Alma 58:29

And it came to pass that when the armies of the Lamanites did arrive near the city, and saw that we were prepared to meet them, they were astonished exceedingly, and struck with great fear, insomuch that they did flee into the wilderness.—

When the Lamanite armies got near the city and saw that we were ready to meet them, they were very surprised. They got very scared. So they ran into the wild lands.

When the Lamanite armies arrived near the city and saw we were ready for them, they were completely shocked. Terror seized them, and they fled into the wilderness.
