And because of this our march in the night time, behold, on the morrow, we were beyond the Lamanites, insomuch that we did arrive before them to the city of Manti.

Simple English

Because we marched at night, by the next day we were ahead of the Lamanites. We got to the city of Manti before they did.

Paraphrase

Because we marched through the night, by morning we’d gotten ahead of the Lamanites and reached Manti before them.
