1830 Edition

And as we had no place for our prisoners, that we could guard them to keep them from the armies of the Lamanites, therefore we sent them to the land of Zarahemla, and a part of those men which were not slain of Antipus, with them; and the remainder I took and joined them to my stripling Ammonites, and took our march back to the city of Judea.

Changes

And as we had no place for our prisoners, that we could guard them to keep them from the armies of the Lamanites, therefore we sent them to the land of Zarahemla, and a part of those men whicho were not slain of Antipus, with them; and the remainder I took and joined them to my stripling Ammonites, and took our march back to the city of Judea.

Simple English

We had no place to keep our prisoners safe from the armies of the Lamanites. So we sent them to the land of Zarahemla. We sent some of the men from Antipus’ army who were still alive to guard them. I took the rest and joined them to my young Ammonites. We marched back to the city of Judea.

Paraphrase

“Since we had no secure place to guard these prisoners and keep them from rejoining Lamanite armies, we sent them to Zarahemla with some of Antipus’s surviving men as escort. The rest of his survivors I added to my young warriors, and we marched back to Judea.”
