Alma 56:37

yea, even to a considerable distance, insomuch that when they saw the army of Antipus pursuing them, with their mights, they did not turn to the right nor to the left, but pursued their march in a straight course after us; and, as we supposed, it was their intent to slay us before Antipus should overtake them, and this that they might not be surrounded by our people.

We led them far away. When they saw the army of Antipus chasing them, they didn’t turn right or left. They kept going straight after us. We think they wanted to kill us before Antipus could catch up to them. That way our people couldn’t surround them.
