For, said they, We are weary; therefore let us take of the wine, and by and by we shall receive wine for our rations, which will strengthen us to go against the Nephites.

Simple English

They said: We are tired. Let us drink the wine. Soon we will get more wine with our food. That will make us strong to fight the Nephites.

Paraphrase

“We’re worn out,” they insisted. “Let us drink now. We’ll get our regular rations later to strengthen us for battle.”
