Alma 52:28

And now behold, when the Chief Captains of the Lamanites had beheld Lehi, with his army, coming against them, they fled in much confusion, lest perhaps they should not obtain the city Mulek, before Lehi should overtake them; for they were wearied because of their march; and the men of Lehi were fresh.

When the main captains of the Lamanites saw Lehi with his army coming at them, they ran away in fear. They were afraid they might not get back to the city Mulek before Lehi caught them. They were tired from their long march. But the men with Lehi were not tired.

When the Lamanite chief captains saw Lehi with his army coming at them, they fled in total confusion. They were afraid they might not make it back to the city of Mulek before Lehi overtook them. They were exhausted from their long march, while Lehi’s men were fresh.
