And it came to pass that Teancum made preparations to make an attack upon the city of Mulek, and march forth with his army against the Lamanites; but he saw that it was impossible that he could overpower them while they were in their fortifications; therefore he abandoned his designs, and returned again to the city Bountiful, to wait for the coming of Moroni, that he might receive strength to his army.

Teancum got ready to attack the city of Mulek. He marched with his army against the Lamanites. But he saw that he could not beat them while they were in their forts. So he gave up his plans. He went back to the city Bountiful. He would wait for Moroni to come and bring more soldiers to his army.

So Teancum prepared to attack the city of Mulek and marched his army against the Lamanites. But he realized he couldn’t overpower them while they were inside their fortifications, so he abandoned the plan and returned to the city of Bountiful to wait for Moroni’s arrival and the reinforcements he’d bring.
