Alma 50:22

And those who were faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord, were delivered at all times, whilst thousands of their wicked brethren have been consigned to bondage, or to perish by the sword, or to dwindle in unbelief, and mingle with the Lamanites.

The people who kept God’s commandments were saved every time. But thousands of bad people were made slaves or killed with swords. Some stopped believing and lived with the Lamanites.

Those who faithfully kept the Lord’s commandments were always delivered, while thousands of their wicked brothers ended up in slavery, killed by the sword, lost in unbelief, or absorbed into Lamanite culture.
