Alma 5:62

I speak by way of command unto you that belong to the church; and unto those which do not belong to the church, I speak by way of invitation, saying, Come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye also may be partakers of the fruit of the tree of life.

I give a command to those who belong to the Church. To those who don’t belong to the Church, I give an invitation. Come and be baptized to turn from your sins. Then you can also eat the fruit of the tree of life.

I’m speaking as a command to those who belong to the church. To those who don’t belong to the church, I’m speaking as an invitation: Come and be baptized as an act of repentance, so you can also share in the fruit of the tree of life.
