Alma 48:7

Now it came to pass that while Amalickiah had thus been obtaining power by fraud and deceit, Moroni, on the other hand, had been a preparing the minds of the people to be faithful unto the Lord their God;

While Amalickiah got power by lying and cheating, Moroni was doing something different. He was preparing the people’s minds to be faithful to the Lord their God.

While Amalickiah was gaining power through lies and manipulation, Moroni was doing something completely different. He was preparing his people to stay faithful to the Lord their God.
