And there were some who died with fevers, which at some seasons of the year, was very frequent in the land; but not so much so with fevers, because of the excellent qualities of the many plants and roots which God had prepared, to remove the cause of diseases which was subsequent to man, by the nature of the climate.

Some people died with fevers. At some times of the year, fevers were common in the land. But not many died from fevers because of the good plants and roots that God had made. These plants took away the sicknesses that came from the weather.

Some died from fevers, which struck the land during certain seasons. But not many died from fevers, because God had provided plants and roots with powerful healing properties to treat the diseases brought on by the climate.
