Alma 43:47

And again: The Lord hath said That ye shall defend your families, even unto bloodshed; therefore, for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion.

And again, the Lord said: You must defend your families, even if you have to die fighting. This is why the Nephites fought against the Lamanites. They were defending themselves, their families, their lands, their country, their rights, and their religion.

And again, the Lord had said, “Defend your families, even if it means bloodshed.” That’s why the Nephites were fighting the Lamanites—to defend themselves, their families, their land, their country, their rights, and their faith.
