Alma 42:23
1830 Edition
But God ceaseth not to be God, and mercy claimeth the penitent, and mercy cometh because of the atonement; and the atonement bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead; and the resurrection of the dead bringeth back men into the presence of God; and thus they are restored into his presence, to be judged according to their works; according to the law and justice;

Simple English
But God doesn’t stop being God. Mercy claims those who repent. Mercy comes because Jesus paid for sins. Jesus’ payment brings back the dead to life. Coming back to life brings people back to God. Then they are judged by what they did, according to the law and what’s fair.
Paraphrase
But God remains God. Mercy claims the repentant. Mercy comes because of the atonement. The atonement makes resurrection possible. Resurrection brings people back into God’s presence. There they’re judged according to their actions, according to the law and justice.
