The Book of Mormon

Alma 40:8

1830 Edition

Now whether there is more than one time appointed for men to rise, it mattereth not; for all do not die at once; and this mattereth not; all is as one day, with God; and time only is measured unto men;

Changes

Now whether there is more than one time appointed for men to rise, it mattereth not; for all do not die at once;, and this mattereth not; all is as one day, with God;, and time only is measured unto men;.

Simple English

It does not matter if there is more than one time set for people to rise. Not all people die at once. This does not matter. All is as one day with God. Time is only counted for people.

Paraphrase

Whether there’s more than one appointed time for people to rise doesn’t matter. After all, not everyone dies at once, and that doesn’t matter either—for God, it’s all one day. Time is only measured for us.
