Alma 4:15

And now it came to pass that Alma, having seen the afflictions of the humble followers of God, and the persecutions which was heaped upon them by the remainder of his people, and seeing all their inequality, he began to be very sorrowful; nevertheless the spirit of the Lord did not fail him.

Alma saw the hard times that humble followers of God were going through. He saw how the rest of his people were hurting them. He saw how unfair everything was. He became very sad. But the Spirit of the Lord stayed with him.

When Alma saw the suffering of God’s humble followers and the persecution heaped on them by the rest of the people, and saw all this inequality, he grew deeply troubled. But the Spirit of the Lord stayed with him.
