And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophecy unto the people, concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world.

Simple English

While I was in all this pain and remembering my many sins, I also remembered something. I remembered hearing my father tell the people about Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of God who came to pay for the sins of the world.

Paraphrase

While I was being tortured like this, haunted by the memory of my many sins, I suddenly remembered something. I’d heard my father prophesy to the people about the coming of Jesus Christ, a Son of God, who would atone for the sins of the world.
