Simple English

When they came into the land, they were very surprised. They found that the Zoramites had built synagogues. The Zoramites came together on one day of the week. They called that day the Lord’s day. They worshiped in a way that Alma and his brothers had never seen before.

Paraphrase

When they arrived in Zoramite territory, they were shocked by what they found. The Zoramites had built synagogues and gathered for worship once a week on what they called “the day of the Lord.” But their form of worship was unlike anything Alma and his team had ever seen.
