And it came to pass that it did cause great joy among them. And it came to pass that they went down into the land of Jershon; and took possession of the land of Jershon; and they were called by the Nephites the people of Ammon; therefore they were distinguished by that name ever after;

This brought great joy to them. They went down into the land of Jershon and took the land as their own. The Nephites called them the people of Ammon. That was their name from then on.

This news filled them with joy. They moved south into the land of Jershon and settled there. The Nephites started calling them “the people of Ammon,” and that name stuck from then on.
